Deep Groove Ball Bearings are the most popular of all the ball bearing types because they are available in a wide variety of seal, shield and snap-ring arrangements.
The bearing ring grooves are circular arcs made slightly larger than the radius of the ball. The balls make point contact with the raceways (elliptical contact when loaded). The Inner ring shoulders are of equal height (as the outer ring shoulders).

Other applications of ceramics

Ceramics can be used in place of steel for ball bearings. Their higher hardness means they are much less susceptible to wear and typically last for triple the lifetime of a steel part. They also deform less under load, meaning they have less contact with the bearing retainer walls and can roll faster. In very high speed applications, heat from friction during rolling can cause problems for metal bearings, which are reduced by the use of ceramics. Ceramics are also more chemically resistant and can be used in wet environments where steel bearings would rust. In some cases, their electricity-insulating properties may also be valuable in bearings. Two drawbacks to ceramic bearings are a significantly higher cost and susceptibility to damage under shock loads

We have 2 types of ceramic bearing, Hybrid Ceramic Bearing and full ceramic bearing, the hybrid ceramic bearing has steel inner and outer rings with ceramic balls, as for the full ceramic bearing; the inner, outer rings and the balls are made of ceramic.There are many kinds of ceramic materials, the most common ceramic materials are Si3N4 that stands for the silicon nitride ceramic material and is black colored, SiC stands for the silicon carbide material and also is black colored. and the ZrO2 that stands for the zirconium dioxide, also known as zirconia or zirconium oxide, they are white colored, a ZrO2 ball looks exactly like a pearl. the ceramic material is not stronger than steel, but ceramic bearing are lighter and have lower friction than steel, that makes ceramic bearing go faster with lower heat generated.

Full ceramic bearing have excellence performance as special electrical and magnetism resistance, wear and corrosion resistance, lubrication and maintenance free when working, especially high and low-temperature application,etc.Could be used in awful environment and specially condition. The rings and balls made by full ceramic material: ZrO2, as a standard constructure, the cage made by PTFE, generally we also could make the cage with GRPA66-25, PEEK, PI, AISI SUS304,SUS316,Cu,etc.

Full ceramic bearing made with Si3N4 have some better performance than ZrO2, the rings and balls made by full ceramic material: Si3N4, as a standard constructure, the cage made by PTFE,generally we also could make the cage with GFRPA66-25, PEEK, PI, phonemic textiles tube, etc. Compares than the material of ZrO2. The SiN4 ceramics bearings could endure heavier load and could be used in higher temperature environment. Also we could offer precision ceramic bearing which generally used in high-speed and high-rigidity spindle, the manufactured clearance could be P4 to up grade.
